For more than 68 years, Brother Roy shared the good news of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
to people all across the Southeastern United States.
On May 8, 2008, he went to his heavenly home.
He was born Powder Springs, Georgia June 29, 1922. He was saved by the marvelous grace of God, after hearing
Bro. Jesse Henley preach on the radio, on a cold Saturday morning in February 1938. He was called to preach in 1940 at the age 17,
and had been faithful to preach the Gospel since that time. Brother Roy served as Pastor of over 16 churches,
one of which he felt compelled by God to Constitute in Paulding County, GA.
He was known as the Compassionate, Country Preacher. His life's mottos were,
"Only one life t'will soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last", "I want to wear out for God and not rust out", "The Upward Look is the Look of Victory", and
"Cheer Up, Look Up, We are Going Up"
Brother Roy's love was sowing seeds of love and encouragement, with the distribution of thousands of devotional booklets and tracts, with a heart beat of reaching the lost for Jesus,
and encouraging the saints. He Preached on the Radio for over 65 years, Starting His own radio ministry in 1948
and has been on the radio, broadcasting the Gospel of Jesus Christ ever since.
He has been on Stations all over N. W. Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, and the West Indies Islands.
So as not to conflict with the our Radio Station Partners,

On Sunday, April 17, 2011, Cornelia "Neal" Smith, the wife of Rev. Roy H. Smith for over 61 years, slipped the bonds of this world and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Though she is at home with Jesus, she leaves behind a most definite testimony of the marvelous grace of our Lord. For many years she and Bro. Roy would share with those that said a momentary farewell to loved ones in death that there is coming a blessed day of reunion in Heaven for the saved. For all those who loved her on this side, we look ahead with great anticipation to the day when we will meet again around the throne of God. Like Brother Roy, her life was lived in light of eternity. She was faithful to share the good news of the gospel with those around her that they might hear and know that the God we serve desires to have a personal relationship with each of us through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 31:10 asks the question,Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Sister Neal was indeed a virtuous woman. She will be greatly missed, but she reminds us in her passing that the Upward Look, a life lived by faith, will one day become sight for the children of God when the Lord calls us home to be with Him for eternity.
